Having a long and storied history, the Women’s Club Championship has been awarded 59 times since 1951. Taking place on the first or second Sunday in August, this 18-hole event is a test of the golf member’s might. Open to all female, golf members in good-standing, there is no entrance fee for this event.
Format
This event plays 18 holes on Sunday. Most years, players will compete for championship stroke play or championship low net (as determined by your handicap on file in the pro shop).
First tee times will be 10 a.m.
Any ties for first place will be a sudden death playoff with the first player to win a hole declared champion.
In case of rain we will either back up the tee times or make a decision that day on how to proceed.
Ground Rules
- The ball will be played down for the entire event. In case of rain, we will make a decision that day if lift, clean and place will be declared.
- GUR will be marked with a white circle. You are to take the nearest point of relief, no closer to the hole, and drop without penalty.
- The fence behind #8 green is an out-of-bounds fence. You do NOT get relief from this fence.
- The fence around the quarry (holes #5-7) is not an out-of-bounds fence. You ARE entitled to one club length relief without penalty.
- If a ball goes into the quarry on hole #5, you may, with a 1 stroke penalty, take the option to keep the point of entry between you and the hole to go backward as far as you want for a drop, no nearer the hole.
- The south fence on hole #6 is an out-of-bounds fence. If your ball is in the growth on the golf course side, you may play the ball as it lies, or you can find the nearest point of relief and then take a drop, one club length from that point for your drop (with a one stroke penalty). Finally, you can keep the green and your point of relief in line and go back as far as you like for your drop (with a one stroke penalty).
