The 6-6-6 tournaments (both men’s and women’s) are the premiere events of the season, behind the Club championships. This 18-hole event has different rules for each third of competition.
Holes 1-6: 2 person, 1 best ball
Each play your own ball through the green. Record the lowest score between the 2 balls. You may roll the ball in your own fairway, you will play the ball down everywhere else.
Holes 7-12: 2 person scramble
You are allowed to move the ball 1 club length, no closer to the hole. You my NOT move the ball from rough to the fairway. You may NOT move the ball from the fringe to the green. If the best shot selected is behind a tree or obstruction, you are allowed 1 club length, not 1 ½. If that does not get you a clear shot, pick your second best and play from that shot. Record your actual score on your card.
Holes 13- 18: modified alternate shot
Each player will tee off from each tee. You will select which ball to use. The next shot will be hit by the players’ ball that was not selected. You will alternate each shot until ball is holed. Record your score. You may roll the ball in your own fairway, you will play the ball down everywhere else.
Handicaps
This is a handicapped event. Each team will start with a combined handicap of the two players. Your actual score will be applied to your handicap. The team with the lowest combined score will win.
Payouts
Generally payouts are given to the top three places, pending funding and turn-out. In case of a tie, there will be a scorecard playoff starting with the #1 handicap hole and continuing through the handicapped holes in order to select a winner.
